***Please excuse our dust. Many of our original submissions came from people who made their accounts public in order to participate in our hashtag project. After the article ran for a couple months, they chose to go back to private accounts, which has led to a few broken links in our story below. Stay tuned, we plan on putting together a new project this spring!***
An article from Buzzfeed went viral last week as it showed various jaw-dropping photos of our recent snow storm. Now, that storm was unprecedented, crazy and deserved to be documented. However, it was the closing line of the article that 4.6 million readers around the entire country saw that irked us, “So yeah. Feel fortunate you don’t live in Buffalo.”
F U Buzzfeed.
We started a campaign on Instagram that blew up! #BuffaloCameBack was meant to show we’re more than snow, more than what the rest of the country is told to think of us. We always dig out, we always come back, and we are very proud to be Buffalonians.
So we grabbed a few of the photos from this campaign, and put together the article Buzzfeed should have written long ago. Thanks to all who participated. Explore all of the AMAZING photos of our town on Instagram with #BuffaloCameBack. Enjoy.
Yes. It snows. But it’s beautiful!

Now that we’ve got you full of Buffalo Pride, please consider making a donation to the area food banks stretched thin by our recent snow storm right before Thanksgiving, or to the Red Cross, UNYTS, or any other charity whose work lifts Buffalo up.
