After a cold June, you’re having the best summer ever. And it’s jam packed with so damn much to do. Grab that calendar, ration out your time, and you can make it to everything, we swear.

You can start by hitting up the grand opening of the joint venture between Wrafterbuilt @wrafterbuilt furniture made from reclaimed items and Emerson James @emersonjamesinc custom lighting at 119 Elmwood Avenue north of Allen St.
Saturday 12-9P
Sunday 12-5P
Husband and wife, Sean @itsnotthatfunnysean and Jackie @theshalomzone Wrafter, and Andrew Emerson have truly GRACED you with their playlist this week. Buckle up because it’s a roller coaster.

Sean and Jackie from Wrafterbuilt and Andy from Emerson James Inc are so excited about our new co-oped showroom space that we are having a Grand Opening Sale this weekend (July 11th and 12th) to celebrate. Come on in for an on the spot custom consultation, or just pick something on the sales floor, and you get 15% off all weekend! Support local craftsmen and treat yo self!!!

While you enjoy the music, check out the top eight instagrams from around the Western New York region from the Lake Erie shoreline to Lake Ontario. We got the stories behind the top four and sent those over to The Public’s VISUALS blog.

Do something this weekend that you’ll laugh to yourself about on Monday. Rock and roll.

For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo. Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare in the park ☺️

Officially summer in the city

This past Tuesday, this community came together at @pourcoffeeparlor for our second #ROCSTAMEET. The weather wasn't cooperating at first (typical Rochester) but nearly 200 of you showed up anyways. It was incredible. And if that wasn't enough, when the rain finally stopped, over 60 of you joined us at Ontario Beach Park for the After Party and watched an amazing sunset from the end of the pier together. We couldn't have asked for a better ending. We had some amazing partners to make this night happen. Thank you to @pilgramers for inspiring us on your mission to bring people together all across the U.S. and to encourage collaboration within our creative communities. Thank you to @postrochester for being all about Rochester and sharing the stories of our city in a unique and special way. Thank you to @pourcoffeeparlor for being generous hosts and for keeping us well caffeinated. Also, thanks to @bricknmotor and @eatmeicecream for sticking it out through the rain and providing some delicious treats. And thank YOU. Thank you for your dedication. The desire for community in Rochester is apparent, and we will continue to make it our mission to facilitate that. You are Explore Rochester. Our team is still learning, and we are working on ways to better connect people in this community (we have a few ideas… @pilgramers). Until then, if you were there on Tuesday, feel free to comment below so that others can find you and tag your photos from the event with #pilgramers_creativeconnect and #ROCSTAMEET. We're already planning the next #ROCSTAMEET and have some other cool events in mind to help us better appreciate this city together. We can't wait to see you all again soon! #explorerochester
