“We created a playlist that represents the fun, energetic philosophy that Relay for Life lives by. Though it may have been adversity that brought many of us to Relay For Life, we see this upcoming event as a time of celebration. We are celebrating the lives of those we lost, those who are still fighting, and those who have won their battle. The Relay For Life team believes in the power of unity and positive energy. In that spirit, we compiled a playlist that conveys the message that people united by a positive attitude can truly make a difference! So take a deep breath, sit back, and press play.

“That’s the music from Jolie Tirado and Denise Ambrusko-Maida, volunteer and Community Manager, respectively, for Buffalo’s upcoming Relay For Life, May 20 at Canalside. This Wednesday, the team behind Relay is hosting a happy hour and inviting the whole city. February 17 at The Lodge is Spirits for Support!10488302_849478278413293_4620422251938857433_n

This week’s feature is pretty special to us, who have lost loved ones to cancer and have participated in Relays as well. So we hope you consider joining Relay this year, one of the few to ever be held inside the city of Buffalo, and even if you’re on the fence, come on down and meet others and enjoy some drinks to learn about it for the first time, or share your experience from past events. The Lodge has lowered their prices to entice you… $3 Domestic Bottles, $4 Well Drinks, $5 House Wine so ya know… we’ll see you there! 5-7PM.

Otherwise, we hope you’ll take part in or make donations to your friends and family who do decide to come together in May to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

Now it’s time for our roundup of the area’s best instagrams. Every week, we scour our feed and those who use #RiseBFLO in their public uploads and feature some of the most beautiful shots around – all the while hoping you’ll find a new account to follow or get some inspiration for your own photography. Have a great weekend!
