This weekend, echo Art Fair kicks off its 2016 events. And we’re so damn excited!

Launching in 2011, echo Art Fair has become one of Buffalo’s premier fine arts events. Highlighting all forms of art discipline from paint, photography, video, mixed media, and full out performance art. From humble beginnings, the fine arts event is now attended by over 7,000 people. And after a brief hiatus, taking 2015 of, echo is back better and stronger than ever. Specifically, there’s two reasons why echo has our interest piqued to the max this year…

First – the sheer amount of artists coming in from out of town this year is staggering. Pittsburgh, New York, Cleveland, Charlotte, Pacific Palisades, Denver, Ithaca, Seattle, Toronto, Chicago. This is a big deal. For these visiting artists to experience the flavor of the Buffalo art and culture scene for an entire weekend will speak wonders for the growth of echo and all exhibits like it down the line.

Second – location, location, location. We love that echo is staying on the East Side. Located at OSC Manufacturing & Equipment at 1001 E. Delavan Avenue, echo’s new home is a massive, raw, and surprisingly well-lit industrial complex. And in our eyes, it’s perfect. Powerful, timeless, and ready for a breath of new life, this space is inherently Buffalo. Plus, it’s given the artists to get creative in the space. This year, the Light Industry exhibit will be echo’s first architecturally focused work. Four architect teams have been commissioned to utilize the space for projects that are gonna blow your socks off!

Kudos to Frits and his team for not shying away from the East Side. It’s time it got the renewed recognition it deserved. This is a massive step in the right direction.

echo Art Fair carries on all weekend long. You can check out the schedule of events here. We’ll see you there!
