Phones and Cameras Out: Jump on the Brew Bus Buffalo and enjoy a customized tour of the City of Buffalo’s amazing and diverse collection of public art.

“The diversity of our community is beautiful and to be celebrated. Come join us for an afternoon of fun and photos, to celebrate the beauty of diversity within Buffalo through public art, on a picture-taking bus tour across every boundary of the city.”

Our pals at Unite by Night  (Check out a previous blog on their work and mission throughout the city) are proud to partner with Brew Bus Buffalo to offer Buffalo Public Art Tours, a fun and interactive look at the City of Buffalo’s beautiful and diverse collection of public art.

All profits of your ticket purchase are donated to the nonprofit that Unite by Night has dedicated a year’s worth of volunteerism, community and professional service to. This year’s recipient is the SSJ Sister Karen Klimczak Center for Nonviolence, whose work including the Alternatives to Violence Project and Camp Peaceprintssocial-justice-oriented children’s summer day camp make Buffalo a better, more inclusive place.

TICKETS         (As of posting, there are only a few left!)

YOUR TOUR: Guests will meet at our first stop, Community Beer Works to enjoy what’s on tap (1 beer included with purchase of your tour ticket). Then we will board the Buffalo Brew Bus for our informative and fun tour across the city.

Our educated guides will showcase Buffalo’s amazing artwork, providing information about each artist, their work, and the eclectic neighborhoods that each work of art resides in. Along the way, guests will be kept warm with complimentary hot chocolate and encouraged to take and share photos of what they discover on Facebook and Instagram #unitebynight #buffalopublicart.

When we are done, back at our first stop Community Beer Works, guests can head home or stay to enjoy Buffalo’s bustling brewing scene and additional drink specials just for tour attendees.

We asked co-founder Emily Burns Perryman some more about the event:

Several of Unite by Night’s founders recently enjoyed social nights out exploring all of the amazing public art that has recently popped up within every boundary of the city. These nights out inspired a formal tour to be created with the intention of celebrating the diversity of our city via public art. We teamed up with the Brew Bus Buffalo to help facilitate the tour, and also throw some business to our local breweries which we will make a few stops at throughout our 2019 tour schedule. Buffalo Public Art Tours will be an ongoing mechanism for fundraising for the community partner organizations Unite by Night dedicates a year’s worth of volunteerism and professional service to each year. This year’s recipient of ticket sale profits is the SSJ Sister Karen Klimczak Center for Nonviolence. So it’s amazing art, brews, and supporting an important cause, all wrapped into one fun excursion.

Our goals are primarily to fundraise for the community partner organization Unite by Night has chosen to support that year, but in a way that encourages appreciation of public art and the stories behind each artist, piece, and the neighborhood it lives in. We also want to achieve increased awareness and visibility of not only Unite by Night, but each community partner we integrate into our tours. We’re starting with the SSJ Sister Karen Klimczak Center for Nonviolence, but also WNY Book Arts Center and The Tool Library for example. We hope to expand the opportunity to collaborate to other local nonprofit organizations that align with our mission and values, and that have something meaningful and of value to add to the tour itinerary. Ultimately we want to provide something unique and fun to do in our amazing city, but with purpose by keeping diversity and inclusion in mind.
