Your car is so boring
Especially when it comes to exploring our fair city. Ever take an out-of-towner around in a car? They’re not sitting on the right side to see whatever you’re referencing from the window, there’s traffic behind you so you can’t slow down, the whole thing was a wash. Pedal tours are just extremely slow-moving bars, double deckers give the G-rated for Generic tour, and walking is nice, but there’s too much to see!
A bike – now that’s how you see the city! Your speed. Your 360 degree view. Your easy navigation to any area of the city. Only better way to do it is with a guide who writes and sings songs to you about your trip! That, and so much more is what you get from Marc Moscato and his team at Buffalo Bike Tours. Whether you live here and realize there’s mountains more to learn about your city, or if you’re hosting some visiting friends, you can do better than just going to Canalside.
Now a proud partner of our pals at Go Bike Buffalo and Hostel Buffalo Niagara, Buffalo Bike Tours is upping their game. They’ve got a crowd funder going on now so they can expand to meet demand with more bikes, and they’ve added more tours around the city to include more history, culture and food.
Buffalo Bike Tours’ offerings for 2019 will include:
Explore the deep cuts from Buffalo history – from civil rights to workers’ unrest – and how these movements have shaped the city today.
Bike through parks while learning about Buffalo’s heavy hitters – from wild Erie Canal stories to the Pan American Exposition and the city’s world-class architecture.
Earn your wings on this fresh trail through Buffalo’s tastiest restaurants and watering holes – with samples at 5 wide-ranging eateries.
An epic meal on bikes connecting the city’s history to its current immigrant communities through the lens of its culinary traditions.
Much of Buffalo Bike Tours’ model is based on community support and through partnerships with local organizations. This year, Buffalo Bike Tours will partner with GObike, a bike advocacy organization, to offer bike rentals. GObike will refurbish 8 of its bikes destined for the landfill, which will now be powdered coated, and made replete with decals, bike pennants, lights, and helmets. Buffalo Bike Tours is also partnering with Hostel Buffalo-Niagara, where all its tours will depart from and return to.
