This July, Golf for Good
Welcome back to the weekly roundup of the best Instagrams of the week and an opportunity to promote a local small business or non profit while we’ve got your attention. Some weeks, there are prizes to win ($ and pennants from Oxford Pennant, $ and items from Scout and Cedar), other times, like today – the prize is learning about how you can get involved in supporting your community.
This week, learn about Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled, located in downtown Buffalo, and its upcoming golf tournament in East Aurora to support its work:
The mission at Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled is to provide or obtain services for people with developmental disabilities and their families, which will assist in achieving their highest level of independent living, enable their fullest participation in society, ensure that their civil and human rights are protected, and promote their ability to be productive, contributing members of the community.
Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled provides a variety of services to people in the Western New York Community. The agency offers residential facilities, pre-vocational and vocational training, as well as habilitation services to those who need it.
On Monday, July 17th, Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled will be hosting their 4th Annual Golf Tournament “Chipping In for Community Services” at the East Aurora Country Club. Registration starts at 10am, followed by lunch and golfing. After golfing, participants are invited back to the Club House for a Happy Hour, Silent Auction, Basket Raffle and dinner.
“The funds raised at this event are distributed throughout the agency, filling gaps in funding to provide the most customized, person-centered services” says Kelly Kinderman, VP of Program Support and Development. “Our services aim to transform lives, empower choices and eliminate exclusion. Each and every dollar makes a difference in the lives of those we support.”
“Since its start, the golf tournament has almost doubled in the number of participants, and that is just within four years. We are always looking for more men and women to come out and golf” says Caroline Hurley, Communications and Fundraising Coordinator. “Even if you don’t golf, come for the dinner portion of the evening!”
The Community Services Support Foundation will host its 4th Annual Golf Tournament Chipping in for Community Services on Monday, July 17th at the East Aurora Country Club (300 Girdle Road, East Aurora, NY 14052)
Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. Dinner with a basket raffle and silent auction to follow golf. Funds raised from the event will benefit a number of Community Services’ programs that will directly impact the people we serve in the WNY community.

Every one of these #RiseBFLO Instagrams was a hole-in-one
