It’s time to BOUNCE with Barre Centric.

“We play fun and upbeat music during barre exercises to push our clients to work harder and deeper and cool and calm music during stretch sequences, so the music always mimics what we are doing in class.” – Co-owner Rachael

When we were arranging Feature Friday with Barre Centric(Link to Facebook), we asked if we could hop in on a class to check it out and see what the vibe was inside the frosted glass on Main near Ferry. “Hey we can make Monday at 645P – Barre Bounce?” Instead of saying “Perfect!” Rachael should have said “Buckle up!”

Drew set up for some photos and Rise contributor, Tom, and I arrived a few minutes early to see the team bringing trampolines down from the loft. TRAMPOLINES?! I have to admit that during the first few minutes of quick jumps, runs, and kicks, I couldn’t stop laughing – I haven’t been on a trampoline since I was a kid! The laughter was soon replaced by groans as we used the instability of the trampoline for pushups and stretches and grabbed the bar (or barre) for some equally crazy leg workouts. I teach spin. I thought I knew the limits of my legs until Barre Centric pushed them even further. We gotta say, if you’re looking for a different, challenging workout in a small, clean and positive environment, you’re going to be hooked on Barre Centric(link to Instagram) after just one class.

We’ll let their team tell you all about it. Stick around after for the top Instagrams of the week from around WNY. Are you taking insane photos but not seeing them featured here? Make sure your account is public, and tag #RiseBFLO and we’ll find you!

From Rachael,

Gia and I opened Barre Centric in 2012 because we were looking for a way to stay in shape in the “post-dance” era of our lives. We could’t find a class that toned our body the way that dance did, so we decided to do our own classes!
The studio features small group fitness classes that are ideal for toning, flexibility, strength, and balance.

We offer various types of barre fitness classes and constantly change our choreography so that your body refrains from plateauing and your muscles keep changing. Our certified and motivating instructors, fun and innovative classes, and positive and encouraging community make Barre Centric the perfect place to change your body and lifestyle! Our favorite part of owning Barre Centric is inspiring others to live happy and healthy lives!

We’re perfect for folks who work in the city and want to work out here before they head home, or get a workout in and shower before going to the office in the morning. We also have a location in Clarence, so it’s really all about what works best for your schedule or where you live.

We welcome guys, absolutely! We have a few guys right now – one just hit his Century Mark! – and they love the low impact and effectiveness of our classes and are seeing great results from barre!

Is your small business, non profit, advocacy group, or artistic work also kickass? We want to hear from you, and feature you! Hit us up at risecollaborative@gmail.com. Happy Friday!
