D’YOUVILLE TO UNVEIL PRIDE MURAL FROM BUFFALO-BORN LGBTQ+ ARTIST
AT CAMPUS CELEBRATION FOR NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY

From the Closet to the Sidewalk Will Be D’Youville’s First-Ever LGBTQ+ Celebration

While we watch national politicians and judges continue to try and resurrect the 1950’s, people who aren’t afraid of everything they encounter in life are moving forward and leaving fear behind. D’Youville College is among those who have said, OK – we’re not going to stay silent and on the sidelines. We’re standing up for what’s right in a big way.

Their Porter Ave campus, along with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention , Center of WNY, and Frybaby, will host From the Closet to the Sidewalk on Friday, October 11 to coincide with National Coming Out Day. The event runs from 12:30P – 1:45P.

Buffalo-born artist Casey William Milbrand will unveil his new mural “As Is” at  the event. “As Is” will be Milbrand’s 3rd installation of public art in Buffalo. His other works include “Greetings from Buffalo” and “Lookin’ Good.” (and a really cool commissioned work for the ShopCraft storefront on Elmwood).

Show up at the event, or do your part to say “However people want to live their lives, and who they want to love is fine by me and truly none of my business anyways!” The world is on fire, find something worth fearing with which to occupy your time.
