Just Dishin is the new generation’s connection to hockey subculture in Buffalo (and beyond). Sunday February 9, they’ll bring those efforts out of social media and into RiverWorks.
NHL 20 LAN Tournament going on all day and free for the public to enjoy.
These dudes have been growing something special.
Wearing the official jerseys, T’s and caps available on your favorite team’s official website is one way to show that you’re a fan. But if you’re submersed in the culture of the game, you’re probably wearing more than a throwback to a team’s 1990 logo. In the case of HOLDAT, former NBA’er Nate Robinson’s new streetwear brand launched last month, that Just Dishin is working with on their launch, it’s about wearing a style that fits that culture. Imagery and terminology on each piece represents the game’s lingo, its inside jokes, homages to players and more.
Buffalo’s sports culture doesn’t need to be defined by the W-L of the Bills and Sabres. This is a sports town in more ways than buying tickets, and Just Dishin has captured that energy and begun exporting it all over the country.
Part of that subculture includes Esports. Undeniably, these games have become a dominant piece of culture and subculture for Millenials and Gen Z and it’s foolish to ignore the opportunities for brands in that space. Its accessible for so many different sectors of the population, and when it leaps from living rooms into public events, the opportunities are endless.
All are welcome to check out the event this Sunday, watch game play, and see what this scene is all about. Sunday, February 9, 2020. 9A – 4P.
