Oxford Pennant was a fun idea to make some extra cash. Now, its a national brand.

Dave Horesh and Brett Mikoll are making it official. After multiple pop ups, hyped because of their limited runs in a few different locations in downtown Buffalo, the co-founders of Oxford Pennant have taken the leap and are opening a permanent storefront at 731 Main Street.

Oxford Pennant started off in late 2013 with some beautiful instagrams of catch phrases and homages to Buffalo printed on some simple pennants. It was the thought put into the designs and the photos that garnered them national attention shortly thereafter. Orders came in from states far away, and so did the calls from national brands for special orders or collaboration projects.

The work has only become more aesthetically appealing as years have passed, and Dave and Brett have been able to incorporate their love of high quality apparel and accessories alongside stickers, pins and patches when their pop ups would run, often around the holiday season.

Now, there’s a production team in place, including those manufacturing the pennants themselves  right here in Western New York, and a staff to rapidly procure orders, complete designs, and man the new shop on Main Street.

We’re really proud of the guys for what they’ve built. Growing a national brand out of Buffalo is good for all of us and our business endeavors. It gives our city more credit on a national stage, and gives a leg up to other small businesses hoping to build a client base outside of area code 716. We’ve been lucky to call them friends, and four-time sponsors of our No Boundaries magazine, too.

We interviewed Dave on Thursday September 27, 2018, just before their Grand Opening festivities which are on Saturday September 30 at 5PM. Music’s up, champagne is popped, and the party continues for Oxford! Hear more about the company’s foundations, collaborations, and capabilities through our talk with Dave below:

Just a project for fun, turned into something much bigger

There have been many collaborations, but the Goo Goo Dolls setting up shop inside Oxford’s HQ is special for Dave
