He’s kicking things off in Buffalo on Friday April 19

We told you about Science Man in a post about his recent LP release show back in March – and if you didn’t take our advice and go see him do his thing at Electric Ave that night, well you missed out on one hell of a ride. But no worries, another chance to catch the crazed alter ego solo project of John Toohill has presented itself. Pack your petri dishes and test tubes, Science Man is going on tour! He’s kicking things off with a show at Buffalo’s Mohawk Place this Friday April 19 at 8pm, along with a rip-roaring lineup of accompanying bands Facility Men, Quitman, and Nervous Tick and the Zipper Lips. And all for five bucks? You’re spoiling us.

We’ll save the details about exactly where and how the hell Science Man came about in a feature in the upcoming edition of our magazine, No Boundaries, (released May 10) where John ‘tells all’ (oooo, sordid!). But with driving riffs, hot drum machine beats, and John Toohill wearing rubber gloves and a gas mask at the helm, you know you’ll be in for a good night. And if you’ve never seen Science Man live but have listened to his latest LP, now’s your chance to prove to yourself that yep, that fast-paced, energetic sound really IS the work of just ONE PERSON.

With John Toohill wearing rubber gloves and a gas mask at the helm, you know you’ll be in for a good night.

And the other bands on the bill are top notch Buffalo talent to boot. Here’s what John had to say about them:

FACILITY MEN are the unofficially crowned champions of Buffalo punk. A super group, if you will, comprised of veterans playing a brilliant blend of stomping, noisey, angular guitar punk with the intensity of hardcore and swagger of rock and roll.

QUITMAN was born when 3 Buffalo area expats found each other living in New Orleans in 2015. Since then they released 3 tapes and a flexi of fun, trashy, garage punk before spreading out across the US. Occasionally reuniting for short tours or recording sessions – having them all together in Buffalo is special homecoming treat.

NERVOUS TICK AND THE ZIPPER LIPS is the ubiquitous Eric “Biff” Bifaro’s revolving cast of Buffalo freaks backing his homegrown mutant punk jams.”

Cover is only $5 and you get all of this sweet, sweet Buffalo talent. See you there.
