Welcome to Rise Small Business Friday AND Saturday
Where we remind you that money spent at big box stores leaves Buffalo and rarely comes back, but money spent at locally-owned establishments goes into the pockets of your own neighbors and gets spent again in our community supporting other businesses. The arrival of another chain does not make Buffalo cool, hip, or an attractive place to live. The success of small businesses give our city unique character and make it worth visiting or moving to. Do your part. If you’re hopping on social media this weekend while shopping, use #ShopLocalBFLO.
We’re throwing a party! Both virtually on social media by visiting 10 stores in the morning and early afternoon Saturday, and literally by invading Allen St Poutine Co for Beer, Poutine, and Ping Pong from 3P – 6P.
We’re highlighting 10 stores now on the blog, and you can see us going Live on Facebook, posting from Instagram and Twitter from all of them on Saturday. Let’s shop, eat, drink, and party local tomorrow – and every day!
After the business roundup, we have, of course, the weekly roundup of the best Instagrams in Buffalo from users who included #RiseBFLO in their tags. Keep up the beautiful photography, folks.
